Melissa's Story

The passion for surfing started 3 years ago for our daughter, Melissa (she was 8 years old). She wakes

every morning to check the waves....and will be ready as soon as the school day is over to paddle out

and be at one with the ocean-smiling ear to ear with her sun-kissed cheeks.

Her board had so many dings and a broken tip - that it would take a

day for all the water to drain out, but she loved that board - it was her first. She could not bare to

part with the board, so my husband fashioned it into a headboard for her bed. She calls it

her 'Surf Dream Catcher'.

Her passion for surfing has not waned, it has grown with her.

She will always be a surfer. When the sun is setting, we

always get "Just one more, please" as she is paddling back out.

Her and her friends have begun to enter surf competitions, and they understand that there are,

and are always going to be, enough waves for everyone to surf!

She would be sooooo stoked to have a Kitson semi-gun board be her next love.

Her spirit could soar on the waves while the board was giving her the control she needed...
